Diwali in the D is an annual, week-long popup celebration produced by the Shanti Foundation, taking place at various locations throughout Detroit in honor of Diwali, the Festival of Lights. The program brings together community, artistry, and tradition through a series of curated experiences designed to be accessible and immersive.

Throughout the week, Diwali in the D features cultural performances, culinary experiences, and community-centered programming that reflect the richness and diversity of South Asian heritage. By activating multiple spaces across the city, the celebration creates opportunities for broader engagement, invites new audiences to participate, and highlights the cultural contributions of the South Asian community within Detroit.
